During a pandemic induced creative rut, I came across a video by FILMFORBTS that I had watched back in 2018. Alan Watts’ speech Falling into Love shook me the first time I had heard it, hearing it again felt like life was coming full circle. After going through a heartbreak in December 2020; every line, every word, pierced me through my chest and echoed within me. To challenge myself I wanted to remind myself that love is not always painful and heartbreaking, that the act of falling in love is a beautiful and mad thing. My first introduction to what “love” looks like was through film, so it only felt fitting to use films to remind myself of what it can look like.
